Altar Design: St. Monica’s Catholic Church

by Amberose Marie on June 11, 2024

Challenge:

Design an altar antependium with the Lamb of God and the seven seals with two angels on each side.

Project Details:

The Catholic Church of St. Monica commissioned me to help complete the design of their altar antependium.

First, a black and white architectural rendering was presented to me.

Then I was given a list of design request from the committee.

Keeping everyone’s design ideas in mind, I composed a couple renderings with a blend of all the requested elements.

Overtime, the design was slowly refined and we explored a variety of color options.

Here are a few examples, of the renderings and the refining process:

The Final Design:

When the Final Design was agreed option, Rugo Stone then fabricated and installed the design into an Inlaid Venetian Glass Mosaic.
