I was born and raised in Southwest Florida. I have been an artist from the moment I could hold a pencil.
Throughout my school age years I was always recognized as the artist among my classmates and teachers. I loved horses. For this reason, my childhood sketch book is full of horses.
My artistic skills developed on a more recognized level my senior year in high school. I loved to paint whimsical and colorful animals then. After high school, Our Lady of Guadalupe opened my heart to start painting sacred art.
If I had to describe my artwork in three words, I would have to say colorful, symbolic, and storytelling. The color is the initial draw, while, the symbolism throughout the art touches the heart.
Once a painting is finished, I love to reflect on how God inspired and prepared me through prayer to create each work.
I am not a very fast producing artist. I prayerfully discern what commissions I accept to work on. God has slowly taught me that I am most creative when I care for everything in the right order... first God, second my husband and children and finally my art.
When everything is taken care of in order I usually experience my most productive days.
